The Annual Meeting of Liberal Men of the Lowcountry will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 11:15 a.m. just prior to our regular monthly meeting at Country Club of Hilton Head.
The Annual Meeting is a requirement of our Bylaws in order to:
- · Provide an overview of the years’ activities
- · Approve the financial statement for 2023 and budget for 2024
- · Elect three members of our Board of Directors
- · Approve the amount of annual dues for 2024
Even if you are unable to attend the regular luncheon meeting with guest speaker Joshua Malkin of ACLU South Carolina, I hope you will plan to attend the Annual Meeting at 11:15 a.m.
Please mark your calendar for January 10 and plan to attend. In accordance with our Bylaws, only those members present at the Annual Meeting may vote.

The three LML members on the ballot for the Board of Directors for 2024 are as follows:
Don Flora (At Large, 3-year term)
Don Flora was President (Retired), Flora and Associates, a healthcare management and consulting firm based in Kansas City, Mo., has been a resident in HHP since 2002. He retired in 2011. Don has multiple degrees in engineering and healthcare management from the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Janet Stallmeyer, have been full time residents in HHP since 2020. Don currently serves as Treasurer on the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. Don enjoys biking, walking, bird watching, playing the Sousaphone and the Kansas City Chiefs. Don and Jan have one daughter and two grandkids.
Bill Stalker (At-Large 3-year term)
Bill and his wife Laurie moved from Northeast Ohio to Bluffton in November 2015 when he retired. Up north they raised three boys and a daughter. Bill coached his sons in baseball and soccer when they were young. They chose Bluffton for retirement to be close to their daughter and her three children who live on HHI. Bill has an M S degree in Chemistry and an MBA. He was Director of Operations for a company that made adhesive-coated products for the automotive, RV and sign markets. He was an officer in a humanist organization in Cleveland for many years. He enjoys bike riding for exercise. Laurie is a teacher. She has a horse and rides every chance she gets.
TJ Ward (Secretary, 3-year term)
TJ is a native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Beth, for 45 years. They are the parents of one son, Ryan, who resides in New Jersey, and is engaged in numerous art and communications related endeavors. TJ and Beth moved to Columbia, South Carolina, in 1998, acquired a home on Hilton Head in 2005, and moved full time to Hilton Head in 2020. TJ has an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Wilkes University. He has held executive positions in the Energy, Utility, and Software industries, and consulted on software solutions in these areas. He has been an active volunteer and held leadership positions in the United Way, Boy Scouts, and college alumni organizations.
