The next general luncheon meeting of the Liberal Men of the Lowcountry will be on December 14 at noon at the Country Club of Hilton Head. Please register from the link on our events calendar. As always, lunch will cost $27.00 and must be paid at the same time you register. Our speaker will be Pete Nardi from the Public Service District, and he will address the membership about the water supply and water resources on Hilton Head Island and plans for future development.
Pete Nardi (Nar-dee) has worked for Hilton Head PSD for 18 years and has served as General Manager since 2015. Under Pete’s leadership, the PSD has seen rapid extension of sewer service, introduction of innovative technologies such as space satellites to hunt for water leaks, and achievement of numerous utility recognitions, including U.S. EPA WaterSense program’s “Excellence in Customer Outreach” awards. Pete is a member of national- and state-level water leadership groups and was recently named a Trustee of the American Water Works Association’s Water Conservation Division. He holds a Master of Science from West Virginia University and a B.A. from the University of Vermont. He’s a former award-winning newspaper reporter who wrote about crime, breaking news, government, and sports in New England and South Carolina.
