Lowcountry Indivisible (LCI) is pleased to invite members of all other liberal Beaufort County organizations to our monthly Zoom meeting.
Mark your calendars: Our first speaker is Brenda Murphy, president of the SC NAACP. Brenda will update us on the organization's priorities in 2022, and no doubt that will include minority voting rights and the gerrymandered maps of SC's redistricting. She will be taking your questions so bring them with you to the meeting.
Our second speaker and third speakers will be working in tandem. First will be Chris deVries. As a well known expert on local and state politics, Chris will give an overview of what to expect during the 2022 legislative session in the SC Statehouse. Closing that topic will be Risa Prince, a leader of the Lowcounty Coalition Against Hate, speaking on the Hate Bill as it proceeds through the legislature this session. Again, your questions will be welcome to both of them.
